Winter Weather - January 2025

Update: January 21, 2025

Texas State University campuses will return to normal business operations at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

All classes will resume, and offices will open as normal on January 22, at the San Marcos and Round Rock Campuses.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will be below freezing in the morning, but roads should be clear in areas around the San Marcos and Round Rock Campuses given the rise in temperatures today.

Students commuting back to the San Marcos or Round Rock campuses after the holiday weekend, please exercise caution, and check DriveTexas.org for road conditions. Students unable to travel due to inclement weather/road conditions, may submit an absence notification form through the student absence notification system.

BE PREPARED and dress appropriately for the morning temperatures expected to be below freezing. Please continue to exercise caution on elevated surfaces and overpasses. Allow plenty of time to travel to campus. For more winter weather tips, visit the TXST Safety and Emergency page.
